U.S. Steel, SeAH, and POSCO are proud to announce the creation of a new joint venture, United Spiral Pipe LLC., to produce high quality large diameter DSAW pipe primarily for the North American oil and gas industry. Our broad-size range, robust capacity, pipe-coating capabilities, and strategic location will make United Spiral Pipe a strong presence in the rapidly growing North-American line pipe market.
Using the latest German designed technology, USP will utilize an advanced and automated two step process. Additionally, U.S. Steel and POSCO, both world class steel makers, will be our suppliers of high quality hot-rolled coils. Our superior resources will enable us to consistently meet our customer's demand for pipe precision and integrity.

On March 22, 2007 U.S. Steel, SeAH, and POSCO signed a joint venture agreement to develop a high-end DSAW custom steel line pipe facility. USP broke ground February 29, 2008 and production is estimated to begin in May 2009. Once completed, United Spiral Pipe will be capable of producing annually 300,000 net tons of spiral welded pipe in outside diameters (OD) ranging from 24" to 64", wall thickness' from .250" to 1", and grades up to X80.
